Black Eyed Peas last weekend

I took my 9-year old son to his first concert this weekend – he wanted to go to the Black Eyed Peas who happened to be playing at the Outsidelands festival in San Francisco on Saturday.

We had a lot of fun – it’s an amazing experience going to your first concert and he loved it. Have to admit – so did I.

Couple of weeks time I’m taking his twin sister to her first concert….Miley Cyrus. Probably a little lighter language at that one.

It’s a good way to end the summer – kids went back to school last week. Summer seemed to go so fast this year.

Two new customer wins today including another big win against IBM Tivoli

After coming off one of the most successful weeks in our history, the momentum has continued with two brand new customer wins today – and while last week was about MSPs and hosting providers, both of today’s customers were end user enterprise customers.

In one case we were up against IBM in one of the hottest companies around that’s growing like crazy and dominating their market. We are soooooo pleased to win this business – we love being associated with incredible brands like this and as everyone internally knows, there were some personal reasons that made this win even more satisfying for me.

And, tomorrow we announce that Phil LaForge is joining Nimsoft to run our Managed Services business unit. Just to clarify, this is not Nimsoft delivering Managed Services or becoming a MSP, but instead its to ensure that we continue to grow our business with MSP, Cloud Providers, Hosting Providers etc by delivering the products that they need with the correct terms.

Phil spent many years at Berbee, then CDW growing their hosting and Managed Services business at a rapid pace with great margins. I’m sure he’s going to be very helpful to our MSP customers in helping them grow.

And, finally, congrats to Anthony, our newest recruit….can’t wait to have you start.

Huge hosting provider selects Nimsoft

Anyone remember the TV program, That Was The Week That Was….or TW3 for short? Neither do I (too young) but it’s a cool name.

Nimsoft has had a huge week. We were just awarded the contract at a huge hosting provider to be the monitoring platform of choice for their entire server estate – replacing an in house solution developed on top of Nagios

We’ll be able to reveal the name in about 4-6 weeks after we work to get PR approval from the customer.

We announce this coming Monday a major new partnership that’s a game changer in the Managed Service Provider space – seriously excited about that one.

And, we are expecting a number more prestigous new customers next week.

When Gartner said we’d “separated ourselves from the pack” they got it spot on. It’s a little humbling with Nimsoft having so much success while the economy, and with it so many software companies, are struggling.

But, it is also reward. Reward for always putting the customer first, for years and years of hard work and dedication by the team and for simply delivering such a high level of customer satisfaction.

WSJ blog categorizes Nimsoft as a "hot company"

A bit of poetic license from me but take a look at the this article in the WSJ. All about how long it takes startup software companies to achieve $50m in annual revenue. It took Oracle 10 years, Microsoft 8 year and in general, “hot companies” achieve it in between 7 and 12 years.

By that measure, assuming that Nimsoft in its current form was founded in 2001/2, then we will definitely be in “hot company” category and we’ll be on a trajectory similar Microsoft and Oracle….nice!

Big week for Nimsoft

Finally arrived in London after lots of plane delays. Had a great afternoon so far and it keeps getting better.

We welcomed another new MSP today – and it’s a big one – a really big one. So pleased that they’ve selected Nimsoft to move all their existng customers over to and help them propel business growth.

We’re expecting another very large customer tomorrow and we’re busy doing sales training for a couple of days in Europe this week.

Business is going so well. Nimsoft is rapidly becoming a de-facto standard. Nobody else offers the quality, breadth, scalability of product with incredible support. Nobody!!!

Dell Silverback customers….are they ending support for your appliance??

We’ve already had multiple Dell Silverback customers move to Nimsoft. It seems as though Dell has announced that they are dropping support for the Silverback appliance to be deployed at the Managed Service Provider location and now, the only way to offer managed services is direct from Dell’s own data centers.

Does anyone remember when Dell acquired Silverback? All the comments from Dell about how they were going to be channel friendly, they really wanted the MSPs, they were doing away with their “direct only” approach of the past.

Yeah right….

Anyhow, Nimsoft is offering special terms for Silverback customers to try to ease the pain that is being inflicted upon you. We already have multiple MSPs that have made the move and are happy to be reference accounts for you.
